The Manual Handling course is intended to provide participants with an understanding of how to safely handle loads. It covers practical aspects of lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling loads. It also provides information on the human spinal system, risk assessment, the legal responsibility of employers to their employees and techniques for the prevention of accidents.
The fun part about the manual handling course is being presented with various lifting challenges and achieving a safe lift and transport.
Through a combination of knowledge presentations and skill practice with an instructor, during this four hour course you’ll build the confidence and skills to lift various objects safely. The course also prepares you to risk assess lifting or moving objects.
